I think talent is something supposed to be cherished and treasured. Talent makes us who we are, it’s that other side that makes us whole it’s more like it makes us who we are.
I do not know who this is for, but do not suppress who you are just because of what people say and the people around us please do not force someone to push out that side of them that makes them whole. Let me tell you a little story I hope I get to touch a soul or a person about this,
A friend I know has a talent in music ohhh she is really Good really Good and to think it’s a family thing that all had this music thing running in the family, but growing up her guardians always asked her to concentrate on books and focus on books but I mean music is what makes her whole, she is asked to suppress this side of herself, so she goes to school fails in most of her classes and literally has no love for any other thing, she’s not good with sports, has few friends and literally is a mess in school but he goes through it and passed that grade
But surprisingly when she goes to the next grade she kinda disobeys her guardians and goes back to her music thing and boom things begin to fall back in place “All work no play makes Jack a dull boy” they say. basically that play she deserved is music and she was back to the grid good grades and all and she passed with flying colors.
I am not saying you literally allow your child to take up their talent completely but I believe communication is keys when it comes to children. if you do not clearly communicate something then information will be perceived differently. Parents, guardians, that talent that you see growing within your child no matter how small it may be, nature it in the best way you can because it’s what makes them whole and makes them who they are. Talk to them they will listen but the more you push them out by being controlling is the more they push away from you
So support them in anyway that you can as a parent that’s all they need to know. They need to know your going to be there for them no matter what comes their way.
